Google Ads Plays by Different Rules for Healthcare Practices

Concierge practices advertise under restrictions most businesses never face. Campaigns that ignore them waste budget on tactics Google will not allow.

Our concierge doctor PPC work is built around those limits from day one, so search intent and location do the targeting.

  • Remarketing lists are off the table. Google treats health as a sensitive interest category, and its personalized advertising policy blocks advertiser-curated audiences, including your own data segments and Customer Match, for ads promoting in those categories.
  • Tracking has to protect patient data. Conversion tracking must keep protected health information out of ad platforms, per HHS guidance on online tracking technologies.
  • Keywords carry the targeting. With audience lists restricted, the search terms you bid on and the areas you target decide who sees your ads.
  • The membership fee filters the click. Ads that mention membership and access up front attract patients who are already open to the model.

What Our Concierge Doctor PPC Management Includes

Every part of the campaign is built to lower your cost per enrollment, and every change shows up in your monthly report.

What Concierge Searches Cost in Google Ads

We pulled U.S. search volume and average cost per click for 17 searches prospective concierge patients make. The table shows what each click costs before your first dollar of ad spend.

Search intent Search term Monthly U.S. searches Average cost per click
High intent, local concierge doctor near me 5,600 $2.50
High intent, local concierge medicine near me 1,900 $1.70
High intent, local direct primary care near me 1,700 $1.60

Category concierge medicine 9,800 $1.90
Category concierge physician 1,100 $1.50

Source: Ahrefs Keywords Explorer, United States, retrieved October 13, 2026. Average cost per click reflects what advertisers paid across the U.S.; your market’s cost per click depends on local competition. For the highest cost per click in 20 metros, see our concierge practice marketing study.

What the data shows

  • Every term averages $2.50 per click or less. “Concierge doctor near me,” “private doctor,” “concierge pediatrician,” and “executive health physical” sit at the top of that range.
  • Cost-research searches cost less. “Concierge doctor cost” averages $0.90 and “how much does a concierge doctor cost” averages $1.10, and both come from patients already weighing the fee.
  • Category terms carry the volume. “Concierge doctor,” “direct primary care,” and “concierge medicine” total 31,800 monthly searches, so tight negative keyword lists decide whether that budget reaches patients.
  • “Is concierge medicine worth it” belongs in content. At $0.10 per click, it draws so little advertiser competition that a strong article earns that traffic better than an ad.

From Cost per Click to Cost per Enrollment

A click only matters if it becomes a member. The table below runs the math at $2.50 per click, the highest average in our keyword data, across two landing page conversion rates and two lead-to-enrollment rates.

The 4.5% and 15.0% lead-to-enrollment rates are real figures from our Texas concierge case study, measured in January and September 2026.

Landing page conversion rate Cost per lead Cost per enrollment at 4.5% lead-to-enrollment Cost per enrollment at 15.0% lead-to-enrollment
5% $50.00 $1,111.11 $333.33
10% $25.00 $555.56 $166.67

Illustrative scenarios based on ad spend only, excluding management fees. Your results depend on your market, offer, and follow-up process.

Doubling the landing page conversion rate from 5% to 10% cuts cost per enrollment in half. Raising lead-to-enrollment from 4.5% to 15.0% cuts it by 70%.

That gap is why we report enrollments every month and work with your front desk on follow-up, alongside bids and ads.

How Google Business Profile Ads Lowered a Concierge Client’s Cost per Lead

This concierge client’s Google Ads account was underperforming, and its Google Business Profile drew interest without turning visitors into leads. We linked the two, enabled location assets, and split geo-targeting into smaller sections.

  • 85 leads came from ads shown inside Google Business Profile between September 16 and November 22, 2024
  • Business Profile ads converted 30% better than standard search ads
  • Cost per lead from Business Profile ads dropped 20%

Concierge Doctor PPC FAQs

Concierge doctor PPC is pay-per-click advertising, mainly Google Ads, for membership-based practices. Your ads appear on searches like “concierge doctor near me,” you pay only when someone clicks, and we measure success by cost per enrollment.

There are two parts: management, which starts at $1,000 per month, and ad spend, which you pay to Google. Clicks on core concierge searches average $0.90 to $2.50 in the U.S., and we set your budget from the number of enrollments you want each month.

Campaigns start producing calls inside the first 30 days. The first 90 days are spent cutting search terms that do not enroll and moving budget toward the ones that do.

Not with your own visitor lists. Google treats health as a sensitive interest category, and its personalized advertising policy blocks advertiser-curated audiences, including your own data segments and Customer Match, for ads promoting in those categories. We rely on search intent, location targeting, and Google’s predefined audiences instead.

We track calls and form fills as conversions without sending protected health information to Google, consistent with HHS guidance on online tracking technologies.

Both, for different jobs. PPC produces calls within weeks, while concierge doctor SEO compounds over months, as our Texas client’s drop from $1,000 to $250 per enrollment shows. Both are part of our concierge medicine marketing program.

No. Ad results depend on your market, your offer, and how your team follows up. We commit to transparent reporting, separate ad spend, and a monthly review of your cost per enrollment.
